Dr. S.Sudarshan B.Sc., MA (Indian Philosophy); MA (HRM) Tata Institute of Social Sciences Bombay, Ph.D(business administration) is Professor (HRM area) at the Mats Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Bangalore, India.
He has over twenty two years of work and consulting experience in Human Resources Management and over 8 years of full time teaching experience in business schools.
He has held several positions in HR at the General Manager level. Before joining Mats Institute he was Associate Professor at the Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management studies, Harihar, Karnataka. He has worked in Bank of Baroda, the TVS group and other organizations. He has been a consultant on HR to Indian and multinational companies and has been a visiting faculty at Symbiosis University, Kuvempu University among others.
He is actively involved in Management Development Programs of several Indian companies in the area of Human Resources Management, Organizational behavior and Organizational development. Some of his MDPs have been for the Kirloskar group, Jindal Vijayanagar steel, Aditya Birla group, West Coast paper, Hindustan Petroleum etc. He has also taught EMBA students, with work experience.
He currently teaches courses relating to Human Resources Management, Organizational development, Performance management, Organizational behavior etc.
He has consulted for South West Mining Ltd., Karnataka, (part of Jindal group), SIKA interplant Systems Bangalore and other companies. He has developed the course material on Training Development for the distance MBA program of the Kuvempu University.
He has visited Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, and Shanghai, as part of Mats global excellence trail with students.
His areas of interest are Integrated Human Resources Management, Performance management & OB applications in management and counseling. He is one of the founding members of the National HRD network

He is married and has two daughters. One of his daughters is studying in IIM-B, and one is working for cognizant technologies. His wife is a Masters in electrical engineering.
